By the late 1940s, along with the development and application of hydraulic system, detachable gooseneck lowbed trailer also began to use hydraulic system as a power source. Usually, the tractor/truck provides hydraulic power equipment and the gooseneck is equipped with remaining hydraulic system. Yet, this method still requires the tractor to install special equipment such as power take-off machine, which does not provide any other function. It is very difficult to be applied universally with multi-function for the tractor. Therefore, this method was not widely used.
